We travel along the borders,

we never get too close.

We have a duty to protect the world,

for we can see beyond the veil.

We avoid the crowds

but we watch out for them.

We walk unwalked paths before anyone else does,

so we can tell them that it’s safe.

It’s always safe, but they don’t know it.

People fear the unknown,

so we go first.

They can then rejoice like children,

telling everyone they’ve conquered wild lands.

What they’ve conquered is their fear.

But most of the time they continue to be asleep

and they will ask us, times again,

to help them see the way.

We took on an exciting task.
